Memory foam

  • Memory foam is perfect for side sleepers

Because of its open cell structure and temperature sensibility memory foam has the ability to decrease pressure on hips and shoulders and keeps a spine aligned and therefore is perfect for people who love sleeping on their side.

  • Memory foam is a synthetic material.

Memory foam is a material completely designed by humans. Original idea was to create material for NASA pilots seats to make their lives easier. The material was supposed to absorb the impact of a harsh landing and to make sitting down for hours more bearable. They succeeded to do that by using polyurethane and adding some chemicals to increase viscosity and density. The end result is a material called viscoelastic foam which later becomes popular as memory foam.

  • Memory foam is safe for children

As we know memory foam is used in mattresses for children as much as for adults but we can also find it in stuff’s made for toddlers and babies. Because this is a synthetic material a lot of people are concerned if it is safe for their children. Chemicals in memory foam are totally harmless. No toxic material is used and the added chemicals are harmless for the human body. The only thing that can happen is that a child develops a reaction to latex or allergy to some components, which doesn’t really depend on material structure.

  • The smell will eventually fade away

If you’re concerned by smell you sensed when you unwrapped the mattresses don’t worry because it will fade away. The smell is there because of a production and packing process but as soon as it is unwrapped it if starts to fade away and will be completely gone in a few hours.

  • Memory foam mattress will keep you warm at night

Because of its dense structure memory, foam mattresses absorb body temperature a don’t waste it around so it becomes warmer. It can be good during the winter period but can be a problem during the summer. Producers are trying to solve this problem by adding cooling agents. There are supposed to open the structure and allow heat to go away and circulate.

Today we can even find mattresses with so-called winter-side and summer-side. Winter-side retains much more heat than a summer-side so it is better for winter because it keeps you warm during the cold nights while the summer-side allows heat to circulate cools you down. All you have to do to change the side is to flip a mattress.

  • The more density it is the more quality it is

The density of the mattresses is a feature that makes difference between high-quality and low-quality memory foam mattresses. High-density mattresses provide better support, they are more durable and make you feel better.

  • Each mattress is made of multiple layers of foam

If you think that a memory foam mattress is one big piece of foam you could not be more wrong, there are layers added in order to create ideal support and comfort.

  • Responsiveness is important

The responsiveness of foam is measured in the amount of time it takes to restore its natural shape once the pressure is removed.
